Last night, Whanganui & Partners welcomed the Massey University Executive MBA academic team to Whanganui. The Massey Executive MBA team come from all over New Zealand and last night’s event was an opportunity for each of them to visit Whanganui in person, some for the first time.
Among the Massey team was Dean of the Massey University Business School, Professor Ted Zorn and Director of Executive Qualifications, Associate Professor Dr Patricia Bossons. Whanganui local Massey Executive MBA alumni Deputy Mayor Jenny Duncan and NZICPA CEO Phil Bedford also attended.
The event was an opportunity for Whanganui & Partners and Massey University to begin planning the Executive MBA programme for 2019. The 65 executive students will spend three days in Whanganui early next year, immersing themselves in the region and meeting local businesses and iwi. The students will work collaboratively with them for the next two years, tackling the challenges their organisations face.
Using Whanganui in the delivery of the Executive MBA programme marks the first time Massey University has tried this approach for any cohort. This programme is an exciting opportunity for Whanganui as a region to develop a stronger relationship with Massey, and for the Whanganui businesses that will build relationships that last beyond the two-year EMBA programme.
